A very feminine bonnet, made in two layers of quality material. The main fabric is made of cotton organdy, a crisp material that holds its shape well. Over the cotton organdy is a sheer chiffon fabric that is sewn to the cotton organdy. The ruffle around the brim and bonnet ties are also made of Chiffon fabric. A hand-made bow, also made of chiffon and cotton organdy, is attached to the top of the brim. Optional chiffon bows can be sewn to the sides. Sizes S (16"-17" head size), M (18"-19") and L (20"-22"). Dry cleaning is recommended for this bonnet. Personal monogramming can be sewn into the back of the bonnet above the elastic (extra $4.00). Please e-mail for monogramming suggestions .

A very historical bonnet that has been worn by ladies and their daughters since the Civil War era! The Slat Bonnet was named after the "slats" that were made from hickory or cedar used to stiffen the brim. Was most often worn outside by those who worked "around the homestead". The deep brim and long skirt (called a Bavolet) protected the face and neck from the sun.

This Slat Bonnet offered by Lisette's is made of a durable polyester/cotton fabric. The brim is reinforced with a heavy fusible interfacing and 5 stitching lines 1" apart are sewn on the brim lengthwise for extra durability. The crown has a double layer of fabric and the bonnet skirt has several pleats in the back. The skirt can be made in several lengths (please indicate your length desired in the space provided). Fabric or ribbon ties can also be chosen. Sizes S (16"-17" head size), M (18"-19") and L (20"-22"). New! Slat Bonnet can also be made for older girls ages 6 to 12. Please measure head circumference size and state age of child.

In stock fabrics for the Slat Bonnet are cream, pink, lilac and heather-tone navy (navy is available in Kettle Cloth - a very durable fabric!). Other fabric colors may be available upon request.

Several inquiries have been received for this style of bonnet. Bonnet is lined and can be made with ribbon ties or ties made out of same material as bonnet. Back can be closed with ribbon or elastic. Made in various solid colors or small prints (please inquire about fabric choices). Sizes NB, S (6 mo.), M (12 mo.), L (18 mo.) Only bonnets made in white or pink are able to have eyelit fabric on the top brim. Please let me know with your order if you would like this 'extra' on your bonnet.

For a boy or girl! The Brimmed Bonnet is the spring/summer cousin to the fall/winter Corduroy Bonnet. Can be made in most solid colors in either polyester/cotton or 100% cotton. (Please note, when ordering 100% cotton, ironing will be needed!).

Bonnet is lined with the same fabric and you may choose a chin strap, fabric or ribbon ties. Sizes S (head circ. 13-16), M (circ. 17-19), and L (circ. 20-24) available.
